WORLD HEALTH DAY
On memory of WHO founded in 1948(World Health Organisation) World Health Day is celebrated on 7th April every year. World Health Day is being celebrated every year to focus on new and emerging health issues. The focus would be varying every year according to the needs in present. This year -2012 is to focus on Ageing and Health with the theme “Good health adds life to years”. The Day will focus on how healthy behaviors throughout life can help older men and women lead full and productive lives and be a resource for their families and communities.
WORLD BOOK and COPYRIGHT DAY
April 23 is being celebrated as World Book and Copyright day which is also known as International day of the book or world books day by UNESCO (The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) since 1995. But in UK, March 1 was observed as World Book Day. The purpose of this day to promote Reading, Publishing and Copyright. This day is the birth and death anniversary of William Shakespeare, the death of Miguel de Cervantes, Inca Garcilaso de la Vegaand Josep Pla, and the birth of Maurice Druon, Vladimir Nabokov, Manuel Mejía Vallejo and Halldór Laxness.
