MATCH REPORT: TNCA INTER DISTRICTS UNDER 19 – FIRST ROUND
I am going to take you now for the match played between Krishnagiri DCA and Nilgiris DCA at St. Peter’s Ground in Thanjavur on 26.07.2014
It was one of the decider match in that Center. Krishnagiri DCA was already out of the race for next round losing their both the previous matches. Before moving in to the match, have a look at the ground!

Nilgiris DCA won the toss and elected to bowl first. It was an wrong decision came to be known only after 15 overs. Krishnagiri DCA looked like renovated with a change in opening pair. Krishnagiri DCA scored 246/2 in 50 overs. Wicket Keeper cum Opening Batsman M. Surya lead from the front by scoring 104 and was well supported with useful contributions from the other Opener S. Pradeep (47) and M. Sakthivel (59 Not out). It was a drought day for Nilgiris’ bowlers.

Nilgiris DCA was in a position to win the match or minimum not to award bonus point and to have better run rate for qualifying to the next round. The pressure to score high for chasing 247 made them to lose 2 early wickets within first 5 overs Then the Captain of Nilgiris and All rounder of Nilgiris joined hands to resist and increase their team’s run rate. Nilgiris DCA bowled out for 163 in 42.4 overs and given bonus point to Krishnagiri DCA. Krishnagiri DCA earned a comfortable victory and pulled down Nilgiris from qualifying for the next round! Captain J. Monish (47) and M.Ismail (42) performed for Nilgiris with the bat. Vijay Kishore Kumar picked 4 wickets for Krishnagiri DCA.
Both the teams showed their spirit by wishing each other

Kanniyakumari DCA and Thanjavur DCA qualified for the second round with this match result. Finally and as usual I had umpired with Mr. Rajagopalan in this match.
